Constitution of the Okyeman Cultural Association of Toronto
The Organization shall
be called OKYEMAN CULTURAL ASSOCIATION OF TORONTO INC.
ARTICLE 2: DEFINITIONS
Okyeman refers to the
three Akyems, namely; Abuakwa, Kotoku and Bosome traditional
areas of the Eastern Region of Ghana, through which flows
the, or are enclosed by, river Birem. Akyemkwaa, for the
purpose of the organization means: any person born in, or
whose parents come or one of the parents comes from any
of the three Akyem traditional areas, or the spouse of an

the elected leaders of the OKYEMAN CULTURAL ASSOCIATION
To promote unity,
friendliness and brotherhood among Akyems in Canada,
to help one another, to protect our common interest
and pursue activities of mutual interest and benefit.
To consider the
possibility of offering some assistance to members in
great financial distress and also in other emergency
To share our deepest
sympathy and affection with a member by giving him or
her any possible help upon the death of a close family
member such as Father, Mother, Spouse and Children.
To take full responsibility
with the family of the deceased for the funeral and
burial when death of a member occurs.
